Exploring the Unknown: Midnight Sun and Snowfall in a Remote Sami Valley
On this trip, we headed to a small creek in the Swedish mountains, deep in a Sami valley. It was a beautiful spot where we were lucky to stay for a few days. The place was amazing, with nature untouched and peaceful all around.
After a night of heavy rain on our way up, we woke to a stunning sight the next morning. The mountains were blanketed in fresh snow, something unusual for July 3rd.
Even the pilot couldn’t resist snapping a picture of the incredible scene.
We explored the creeks in the valley as the weather shifted to something better. The fishing was a bit hit or miss, but overall, it was good. There were no words to fully capture the beauty of the place, you could really feel its soul. I tried to capture it in a few photos, though no picture could truly do it justice.
After a delicious dinner at the camp, the days not over, that’s the beauty of the Swedish midnight sun.
The sky stayed light throughout the night, filled with a soft, golden glow that never really disappeared. It was the perfect setting for photographers and fishermen, with hours of light to enjoy and capture the peacefulness of the place.
Here I made a short film that condense our five days in five minuts:
